The Samsung LE40A656A is a TV with a 40" LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen, capable of projecting images in HD (High Definition). High Definition refers to the capability of newer models of television which can incorporate considerably more rows of pixels into their display and as a result a lot more detail, otherwise known as a higher 'resolution'. Its screen resolution is 1080. Each of these rows is scanned onto the screen using a progressive mode (each horizontal line of pixels is scanned one after the other) and this allows for better viewing of motion and a crisper image in general.
